The Intruder

The intruder glares me down

 She whispers, “I don’t belong.”

And continues, “I know this isn’t a place I should be.”

But she stays

Stays, in hope that she finds a place in this wretched land- a place where she can belong.

I believe that she is only trying to convince herself of this idea that there is a place for her here

I believe that she is actually held captive by my

-- Our cruel world.

She only wishes to belong

But every attempt at fitting in only makes people reject her more

There was a time that the intruder was compatible and she found comfort in being here

But the endless incantations slowly slipped into her mind making a permanent residence there; much as she is becoming a permanent entity of my-- their world

She sits in the corner, with her glaring eyes

She silently watches everyone and drinks the poison- supplied by long- time residents of this place.

Her one and only hope is that an escape will appear before death answers her pleas.

Life

Just one serious conversation
Is that too much?
Just one silly squabble
Without losing our heads
Just one outing
Where we don’t end in frowns
And bow are heads in shame
Have laughs run-out on us
Do smiles escape at first chance?
Are we so full of fear
That trust just gave-up
And love disappeared
What is this madness, we’ve stumbled upon
Life?
If so, life must put on a masquerade
Keep-up an appearance of happy moments
, but the moment you’re hooked
It will pull back the curtains, exposing the truth
Life is just a series of never ending sadness
Secrets, always full of drama
Minds, constantly being broken
The day, always ending in hidden tears
Life should be worth living
Instead, it is something many are forced to trudge through
Much like the crappy, morning brew.

Tattoos of Shame

Tattoos of shame cover my body
The blood still fresh
I feel euphoric as the edge digs in once again
Straight, Straight, Straight
In this moment pain is non-existent
Impurities leak out from the tear
The red river, calming as it flows down
No more room, no more room
On this showcase never to be shared

XX, XY

XX, XY
 It doesn’t matter
 So, why do we classify
Daughter to mother, as son is to Father
Go ahead! Say it’s just the natural way
But remember
Pink. Originally a masculine shade
Just as blue started as a girlish hue
 XX, XY
Does it really matter
If she works and provides
While the one to stay home and watch the kids is the guy
XX, XY
It shouldn’t matter
So why discriminate ones who categorize
As the gender which their biology denies
Say it’s unnatural, or goes against your god’s will
Go ahead. Say it makes you ill
But in my eyes a person is a person
No matter how they identify
Now I don’t say conform
To these new modern societal ways
However, I do require
That you never let your mind easily sway
Never let others decide your heartly matters
Because in the end
The one constant that should always stay true
Is you just being  you
